From the blog of Ted Campbell, Associate Professor Church History, Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University: Why the Churches of Christ Were Right After All
If the last name is any indication, Prof. Campbell is probably right. =)
Summary:
First, they have a profound insight into Christian music and its place in worship.
Second, they’ve sure got the right name.
Third, the Churches of Christ celebrate the Lord’s Supper every Sunday.
Fourth, there really is only one Church of Christ. . . . and the Churches of Christ were way out front in making us aware of that claim.
Fifth, and perhaps most importantly, the simplicity of the Churches of Christ allows them to focus on what is most important, namely, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A very generous perspective. So, is this what we got right? Anything else? Anything here we actually didn't get right? Is this really "us"?
